"We learn to do by doing"

Mr. Kimball's meaning of "We learn to do by doing" is that we can only learn to accomplish something is by doing the action itself. Nobody gets better by not doing anything, it requires you to do the activity. For example, when someone wants to improve their writing skills it requires them to do a plethora of essays. Another saying that reminds me of this is "Rome wasn't built in a day" because like many things it requires hard work, and once that is completed we get the rewards of learning and accomplishing how to do better.
