"Dont sacrifice what you most want for what you want know. Write down what you most and see it often"- Peter Vidmar
           School Homecoming

Definition:  The first dance (semi formal) held at the beginning of every year. Is for every grade, not just underclassmen. Is also a dance for the previous graduating class to come back and dance again, hence the name "home coming", like "coming home". So it's a dance that is the first one for all the classes.

History: The first schools that had homecomings are Baylor, Illinois and Missouri, which was around the year 1910. Despite the debate of who first had created they had all the same characteristics such as the football game and dances, this was to help create more school pride and spirit. Furthermore it was wildly successful so it spreaded to other schools in the 1920’s and soon became an American Tradition.

Reason: Many high schools celebrate homecoming during football season, but some schools also celebrate during basketball season or even hockey or soccer. Some schools have more than one homecoming each year, taking place during different seasons for different sports. This annual American high school tradition oftentimes includes a parade, spirit days during the week at school, fun activities, competitions between grade levels and faculty along with spin-off athletic activities, such as powder puff football or volleyball games. A pep rally usually occurs on the day of the big homecoming game. This includes cheers for the team and music from the school band. The main team is featured, and sometimes the captains of the team or the coach speaks. A dance follows the homecoming game, and a homecoming queen and sometimes king are crowned either during this time or at halftime of the game. All of these encourage students and alumni to have school spirit and pride.

“ A good name is better than anything you can achieve in this life”
                 -  Mike Krzyzewski
Based on reading the quote I believe that it's true because it's the first thing people say when they talk about you. Like for example President Nixon, he is one of the most known Presidents because he actually resigned out. When people uttered his name they think of the troops that died in Vietnam.
“Global Opportunities: Careers in Other Countries”

South Korea
  • Clinical Research Physician
It's a good career because I get to teach, treat patients, conduct basic science and perform transnational and clinical research. It's a good career because I get to meet Koreans and see the difference between westerners and Koreans.

Canada
  • Economic Development Director
It's a good career because I get to help make programs for people who need financial help.  These are government managerial positions where the main responsibilities include evaluating, planning and executing economic policy. These employees also collect data on the regional impact of government policies like taxation, international trade, labour markets, transportation or agriculture. They also plan and direct policies and programs to promote industrial and commercial business development in urban and rural areas.

" A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches"-Proverbs 22:1

Based on the quote I agree that its more important to care about your reputation than great riches. Like for example like Donald Trump, he is a millionaire that says things that he knows he shouldn't. Like when he said that all Mexicans are rapist and drug dealers. By him saying this he has proven that he doesn't like Mexicans. He is a public example of this quote because he wont be remembered as someone successful living the American dream, but rather a evil business man who ran for president.

A good example is Gandhi because he was a peaceful man who has quotes that forever will be used throughout the generations. His quotes are all good words to live by. He was too soon for his time. Even without being wealthy in paper, he was the richest by his name.

“ If your so-called friends urge you to do anything you know to be wrong, you be the one to make  stand for the right, even if you  stand alone. Have the moral courage to be a light  for others to follow”. -Thomas S. Monson

The quote is inspirational because it's about being brave and doing what you know is right even though others are choosing the wrong. Like for example, you're at a friends house and they offer you to drink some alcohol. You know in your heart thats its the wrong thing to do . Furthermore you know that your mother would be upset that you are doing something that is harming your health. So why choose the wrong? You may want to seem cool in front of your friends. But really you're hanging out with the wrong crowd and can do better. All of us can do better and be a CTR person with good morals.

" A CTR champion is a person who makes a great human out of himself."-Noemi Trigueros

This quote makes sense because if you follow CTR ways, always choosing the right then you are going to be a great human. Like for example if a child is taught from a young age to be a CTR person. When they get older they follow all the right steps, then they are more likely to succeed. If they decide to continue in life as a CTR person then good things are to eventually happen. Like if a child does good at school, and follows the rules. Towards their senior year in high school they are most likely to go to a good university. With doing the right their is going to be rewards after, it goes the same with hard work.

“Goal setting is goal. Set and get.”- Mark Victor Hansen

Based on the quote I think it's true because if you have a plan then you are most likely to keep track on it. Like for example you have been wanting to really learn the guitar but have been lagging on it. But then you write it down and you always see it on your journal. It's going to bug you from seeing it there. So to get rid of it you actually decide to it and achieve it.

            Columbus Day
The holiday Columbus day we celebrate it because it's the day that a man named Christopher Columbus had discovered North America, which is now the United States. Christopher Columbus was a Explorer and navigator and was born in 1451 in the Republic of Genoa, Italy. His first voyage into the Atlantic Ocean in 1476 had almost cost him his life.  He had found new lands and was in seek for India for the riches. Lastly this land was untouched by europeans so all the natural resources were plentiful.

"When obedience becomes our goal, it is no longer an irritation; instead of a stumbling block , it becomes a building block."- James E. Faust

From reading the quote I know that obedience is the way to go.  Secondly that if I just continue being obedient that eventually all of it is going to fall in place. For example if you follow the laws everything will be alright. But if  you do and get something like a DUI then thats not being obedient. For that you get driver license suspended and taken away from you and you cant go anywhere. This is a result of disobedience and shouldn't be taken lightly.
