              Orthopedic Surgeon

Duties and Responsibilities:  Orthopedics involves the treatment of musculoskeletal system disorders. Medical doctors who perform operations on the various components of this bodily system are called orthopedic (or orthopaedic) surgeons. They diagnose and treat conditions of the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and skin. Patients suffer from a wide range of disorders, injuries, diseases, and infections. Orthopedic surgeons are medical experts regarding the numerous deformities and ailments that can afflict certain parts of the human body. Surgical procedures include mending broken bones, reattaching ligaments and tendons, and replacing hips and joints with prosthetic devices.
Salary: $512,000

Education: While earning a bachelor’s degree at a four-year college or university, a prospective orthopedic surgeon enrolls in a pre-med program. It consists of more science and math classes, as well as clinical training. On-the-job experience may be obtained by volunteering at a hospital or clinic during the undergraduate years. The next hurdle to clear is graduating from an accredited, four-year medical school. Graduates are required to enrol in an additional five years of residency training, working with surgeons in hospitals and other facilities. Competition to enter the residency program in orthopedic surgery is extremely fierce. Only around 4% of all practicing physicians in the United States are orthopedic surgeons, which translates to about 20,400 active orthopedic surgeons and residents.

Demand: Employment of physicians and surgeons is projected to grow 14 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. The growing and aging population is expected to drive overall growth in the demand for physician services as consumers seek levels of care that uses the latest technology.

Student Success Statement

Goodness is the only investment that never fails.”- Henry David Thoreau

It's true because nothing bad comes out of doing good. What this success statement means to me is that when you do good it will never let you down. In other words if you were to make an investment as long as it's for a good cause it will always prosper because your doing it for someone else other than yourself. This quote reminds me of something that I want to do when I grow up. I want to open up my own practice and help all the sick. I feel like I could never go wrong with helping other people. I think that this is what Henry was trying to say is that you should do something for others instead of being selfish and wanting just a good life for yourself. This is another way we can choose the right and life always presents us with these opportunities. When we do what is right good things happen and you can never fail. In conclusion invest in things that will help other because if you do what's right and good it won't fail. This is because people like to see goodness in the world and if you start it most of them won't try to stop it.

I agree with the statement because its right to give good influence if that so much people admire you and watch you,our duties to influence and make good popular. So we all have to do things that are good so that everyone does it and then it will become popular. Some things you can do that are good are help other people, give other back. Also, if you want to be a ctr person you should really do these types of things because people that are ctr always do things that are kind and because they love helping other people. This is good because then everyone will be nice to each other and then there will be no violence. Violence is not a good thing because we are hurting each other by fighting.

"Character is higher than intellect."-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Character matters most because it matters if you are a good person or not. Like for example a tourist guide. It would be best for you know the area, but with touring people you need a good character. People often remember the good times than information on a historic building.  Furthermore if you are looking for a career most likely your character around other people will matter most. Then you being highly intelligent.
