Salary: $356,890 - $474,890

Education: After earning your bachelor’s degree, you should enroll in medical school. After you pass your medical licensing exams, you’ll complete a residency in radiology. Once your residency is complete, you’ll sit for your certification exams, offered through the American Board of Radiology. In total, you should expect to spend at least 10 years in school before becoming a certified radiologist.



Reflection: This is a career that I would keep in consideration. The projected growth seems high, so there must be a demand.

Medical Career Research

Dental Assistent

Duties and Responsiblities: 

The dentist assistant performs various of tasks in a dental office. They perform many task requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. Some include, taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays). In addition, providing patients instructions on oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures. 

Salary: $33,278-$41,458

Education: Dental Assisting National Board's (DANB) Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) examination. 


Reflection: I think this is another excellent medical career pathway. I think it would be relatively easier to receive the education of this career as compared to being a trauma surgeon. I would like this career as one of the back ups that I can pursue.

Dentist

Dentist

Duties and Responsiblites:

Dentist diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygeine regimens. In addition they administer care to injuries and malformations of the teeth, oral tissues, and the mouth. They employ a variety of procedures and equipment to prevent and treat oral health problems. 

Salary: $151,850

Education: Bachelor's degree, and complete four years of dentist school

Reflection: I think I would like to be a dentist for the reason that its a pathway related to the medical career pathway that I would like to pursue. It is hands on that requires a lot of devotion and time.

Cardiologist





Duties and Responsibilities:

Much of the emphasis is on improving survival rates and the quality of life following heartbreaks, heart failure or heart rhythm disorders; but cardiologist are also concerned with understanding disease process and disease prevention.They are physicians who have recieved additional training to prevent, diagnose and treat conditions of the cardiovascular system.

Salary: $208,000-$250,000

Education: 

Doctoral Degree in Medicine; completion of a residency program in internal medicine and cardiology

Reflection: I think I would like to be a cardiologist for the reason of in recent classes I have been learning medical terminology. In addition I have been researching for a class on a medical career pathway.
