"Develop the attitude of gratitude."

Having gratitude is part of being a CTR person. If we do not have gratitude then what is the point of us being thankful and kind people? Demonstrating gratitude relays to a person to know that they are being noticed for their goodness.

student success statement

" If your so-called friends urge you to be anythin wrong, you be the one to make  a stand for right even if,  you  stand alone. Have the moral courage to be a light for others to follow."
Thomas S. Monson
When seeing the clip of Sandy Koufax and reading the article about his absence in a world series due to his respect for his religion. Despite knowing that there is many people would delay it. In addition, many people probably have had to work on a sacred day of their belief  knowing that it is going against their morals. That is why we need to the courage to stand alone when we know everyone is making a CTW decision.

"Decision Determines Destiny"

Thomas S. Monson

When I first heard the quote I immediately thought of the upcoming tests I have for statistics and athletic training. Reminding my decisions of studying will ultimately be the factor if I do well or not in those tests. This student success statement is valuable information for anybody to recognize as words to live by. In movies there is often times when the character makes an realization that they have found out there "destiny" but often times they do not show the grit and decisions that it took those characters to accomplish their destiny. We miss the important parts such as the decisions they made. I feel that if children were taught this in a early age, there would be more of them chosing the right, with the implemented thought process of understanding that our decisions as people will determine our destiny meaing our outcome of the future.

Student Success Statement

“Dare to stand alone”- Thomas S. Monson
What I think of this statement is that it's ok to stand alone if you know what people are doing around is you is wrong. Like if for example you notice that your friends are smoking and doing drugs. They are in a group and they ask you if you would like to join them. Instead of choosing the wrong you go off and do right but you may be alone. That's okay because you know that you are doing well for your mind, body and soul.

Student Success Statement

NEVER, because "You cant be right by doing wrong; you cant be              wrong by doing right."- Thomas S. Monson

The quote is just logical sense because you cant change what is wrong and vice versa. Its like saying if I steal something from a store. There is nothing to justify what I am doing is right because there can be nothing that can make it right for a person to steal from another. Another example is if a student is cheating on a test by looking at a other student's work. There can be nothing right about that because cheating will create the individual to loose their own opinion and mind thinking not making anything better just possibly paper

From seeing the video of Thomas S. Monson speaking of a disobedient action I noticed that he too had chosen the wrong when he was young. What he did was at Vivian Park, he was 8 years old with friends  they were planning on camping outside. They had chosen a spot where they were going to set up camp at, which was filled with wild grass and weeds. So they decided to get rid of the weeds by hand, which resulted in them taking longer before they can set up their tent. After noticing that their actions  had no significant result or progress, Mr. Monson thought it was a great idea with his friend Danny to get a match and set it on fire were they were planning to camp at. With sneaking into the cupboards he found the matches, his parents didn't allow Mr. Monson to use or play with matches. Then he ran with Danny and lit the fire which grew enormousness with the wild grass and weeds. Soon after it grew too big so they both panicked and went to call for help. Luckily his neighbors, friends, and family had been home help him. They all used wool rags soaked with water and hit the fire, they all were worried of it spreading to the pine trees, since those trees are highly flammable.
Based on reading the quote by Thomas S. Monson "Obedience is the great test of life"  I infer that he has been tested on obedience everyday of his life. I believe its true because everyday people get the decision to choose the right or wrong way. Furthermore people decide to be obedient because it always comes with a better or positive outcome than choosing the wrong. To add I think that  a lot of people should live by these words because they might make choices that they might regret at that time. But if your being obedient to something negative its better not to be because thats just peer pressure and you dont want to follow steps that might leave on bad thoughts. Also sometimes these words may be the extra push people need in order to do greatness that wouldn't be able to be accomplished on their own.
